Spanish Honor Society

Advisor: Carmela Kovage

The Society is classified as a national and international academic honor society in the study of high school Spanish and Portuguese and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, Inc. (AATSP) The purpose of the Spanish Honor Society is to recognize high achievement in Spanish by students of secondary schools and to promote continuity of interest in Hispanic studies. To be into Spanish Honor Society, students must be in 10th grade or higher and be currently enrolled in or have completed Spanish 3 at Mt. Anthony. Meetings are held the first Thursday of every month after school in room 125. We plan social events for the members' linguistic and cultural enrichment, provide free tutoring and homework help for all Spanish students at MAU and organize service projects for the community.
