Beekeeping Club

Advisor: Jim Cross

Beekeeping has been a hobby of mine for over 25 years and many students find beekeeping fascinating. Members of the BEEKEEPING CLUB will meet not only to become knowledgeable and confident beekeepers, they will be given an opportunity to: make candles, visit local apiaries, study successful queen rearing, harvest/extract/bottle honey, design and create labels and brochures, study the physical properties and chemical composition of honey and beeswax, design a method to locate a wild honeybee colony, and design experiments to study honeybee structure/function and how honeybees live, work, and communicate with each other.
